Its wash day…what do I do??

Ideally you should be rewetting and detangling the hair at least once a week. Doing so will result in less tangles and keep your new curls manageable.

Wash days with Nahara’s Curls Extensions can be a 10-30 mins process. Simple and easy.

So, its been a long week for you and your curls and your curls are looking frizzy and dehydrated, right? Here is a quick step by step of how to properly regain hydration and frizz free curls:

1. (This step is optional) Before stepping into the shower you can do a prewash. A prewash consists of putting your favorite detangling conditioner, then going in section by section and gently detangling with a brush or your fingers.

2. Step into the shower and wet the

hair completely. After your hair is soaking wet use either a gentle shampoo or co-wash to cleanse your hair of any product. If you decide to use a co-wash in your routine alternate every other wash with a real shampoo. Co-washing is good but it does not remove all of the product. Product build up tends to leave our curls looking limp and lifeless. You only need to wash your hair once, you don’t want to dry out your curls. If you happen to have tons of product on your hair you can shampoo it twice, but try not to make this an every time thing.

3. After you have rinsed out your co-wash/shampoo now it is time to condition. Don’t we all love this part!? It’s when your hair comes back to life and your curls are thanking you! So after you have applied your fav conditioner to your curls gently brush out your curls with a good paddle brush.

At Nahara’s Curls, we have found that the paddle brush is the easiest most efficient way to detangle our hair, but if you prefer to use a wide tooth comb or your fingers, that’s perfect too! Do what works best for you.

Here are some brushes we love:

- Olivia Garden iDetangle Hair Brush https://amzn.to/2BAnk3T

So back to the curls, part your hair into sections and detangle starting at the your ends and working your way to the roots. Once you have fully detangled you can either let your curls continue to soak in all the conditioners goodness or you can rinse the conditioner out. We, at Nahara’s Curls, advise you to let your conditioner sit for a minimum of 5 mins and no longer then 40 mins. We encourage you to find your sweet spot!
